Some students in other primary schools are demonstrating against Teachers failure to report to work as they are demanding risk allowances and PPEs.
According to multiple sources, it is reported that some students at Chioko Primary School in Lilongwe have blocked a road which pass through Chioko Primary School in protest as Teachers are advising them to go home until Government has resolved their grievances for them to resume working.
It is also reported that they are stoning vehicles passing by and other minibus drivers are returning back as the situation is getting out of hand for their safety.
Earlier in the morning, avantmalawi reporters witnessed a storm of learners freezing in the rainy morning breeze, all the way to their respective schools.
To their surprise, only to be told, Teacher’s are sleeping at home awaiting risk allowances.
This development comes days after the presidential task force announced schools to open on 22 February 2021. The development did not go well with Teacher’s who demanded risk allowances before schools are open
