Kawale Police through Community Policing branch, on Monday February 8, 2021 met Faith leaders of different denominations operating in the area.
The meeting was organized following the Prophecy of a missing child that was given to a woman in area 23 by a certain Prophet known as Mwenyeheli who is based in area 36.
The Prophetic word bring chaotic scenes at Mid land in area 23, where property worthy millions of Kwacha got looted and resulted to displacement of a certain family.
In view of this, Kawale Community Policing coordinator, lnspector Thoko Mkwezalamba invited faith leaders to a meeting with an aim to bring knowledge to them on how to conduct themselves when serving God to avoid spiking violence and commit crimes .

The meeting enlightened faith leaders on the mistake made by Prophet Mwenyeheli so that they can learn a lesson from it.
“According to our records here at Kawale Police station, it shows that many faith leaders commits various sexual offences as they shepherd the flock.” Said Mkwezalamba.
He said that there is a need to apply wisdom in every Prophetic word, and without touching the anointed ones. He added that the interpretation of a Prophecy needs extra care .
This is a first meeting, a series of such meetings will be conducted to ensure that all faith leaders in Kawale township are reached.
Speaking during the meeting, Kawale Police Crime Prevention Officer, sergeant Mphatso Masikini, advised the faith leaders to refrain from taking advantage of women who are victims of gender based violence.
She further narrated that many women have total trust in faith leaders for solutions whenever they encounter marital problem .
” l therefore urge you to report to police any sexual violence cases you may come across in your respective areas for proper police action.” Said Masikini.
The faith leaders praised Kawale police for the initiative. They promised to adhere to the tips shared to them and become ambassadors of peace in the area. .
