Kawale Chiefs led by a businessperson, Benjamin Hamid of Lirapo transport have handed over a shelter and two roomed office to Kawale Police Station in Lilongwe.
The donation has been fully taken care of by the manager of Lirapo transport, Benjamin Hamid.
The ceremony took place on Friday, February 5, 2021 at Kawale Police Station.

Speaking during the handing over ceremony, Benjamin disclosed that he was touched when he was approached by Kawale Deputy Publicist Sergeant Mabvuto Phiri that the project was abandoned and is looking for donors who can help to complete the building.
“Now that it has reached its final stage and that today l am handing over to police, l am happy,” said Benjamin.
Representing the Officer In-Charge was the Station Officer Superintendent Aggrey Khonje who could not hide his gratitude .
He further said that the good relationship that the police has with the community makes the community to give back to Police.

He commended the chiefs to continually maintain the drive as it makes police work easier.
The project has costed K 2,800,000.
Furthermore, the Station Officer encouraged other well wishers to emulate Benjamin’s gesture.
