NICO Group has expressed satisfaction with the progress of the One NICO Top 12 Netball Cup, describing it as an important platform for identifying, developing and promoting netball talent across the country.
The Group’s Head of Corporate Affairs, Mbumba Mlia-Ndasauka, made the remarks following the conclusion of the Eastern Region playoffs, where Prison Queens emerged champions after defeating Airforce Falcons 55-33 in the final.
Mlia-Ndasauka said the competition continues to create opportunities for emerging players to demonstrate their abilities while competing for places in the national finals.
Eastern Region Netball Committee Chairperson Stella Banda also described the playoffs as successful, with 12 teams taking part. She commended NICO Group for its continued support, saying the competition was instrumental in nurturing talent and giving girls a platform to showcase their skills.
Prison Queens, Airforce Falcons and Genius will represent the Eastern Region at the national finals, joining Southern Region qualifiers Kukoma Diamonds, Tigresses and Giants, alongside teams from the Central and Northern regions to complete the 12-team championship line-up.
