The Northern Region Football Association on Saturday launched the 2026 Division Two League at Chirambo Ground in Rumphi.
Speaking during the launching ceremony, NRFA Chairperson Masiya Nyasulu said the Football Association of Malawi has committed K30 million for the league this season.
He said the amount is double the K15 million that FAM provided last season.
Nyasulu said the Division Two League gives players a chance to break into the higher division and the Super League.

He said the league will be played in four Clusters with a minimum of eight teams in each cluster.
He added that after the group stage, the top two teams from each cluster will qualify for the quarter-finals, then semi-finals and finals.
The NRFA Chairperson urged clubs, match officials and supporters to maintain discipline during the season.
He said violence has no place in football and teams must help to ensure games are completed without incidents.
Guest of Honour, Paramount Chief Themba la Themba Chikulamayembe, hailed FAM and NRFA for supporting grassroots football.

He said sport keeps the youth busy and away from bad behaviour, and asked traditional leaders to encourage young people to take part.
Football officials, team representatives and other stakeholders attended the launch, which was capped by a 1-1 draw between Kapotolora FC and Mphompha FC
