Kawale Police in Lilongwe has intensified investigations to uncover the assailants behind the Murder of a Kabaza operator, Paul Alosi.
The heartbreaking incident occurred during the wee hours of Sunday 29, 2024 at Chipasula grave yard.
Reports indicates that unsuspected Kabaza operator, Paul Alosi (now deceased) picked two pillion passengers at green house to Chipasula.
It is further alleged that upon reaching Chipasula grave yard, the unknown customers shot the rider at the back with an unspecified firearm.
Residents closer to the scene of crime heard the sound of the gunshot, which made residents to be awakened and come out of their houses.
Just like any other resident, Mr Geoffrey Matiya came out of his house only to find the victim on his verandah in a pool of blood, lying helplessly.
A report was made at Police and scene of crime was visited and a
Gatoma Motorcycle was recovered at Chipasula grave yard.
Preliminary findings reveal bullet wounds at the back of the deceased body. The motive behind the killing is yet to be established as all the deceased’s belongings were found at the scene of crime.
Meanwhile, the body is at Kamuzu Central Hospital mortuary pending postmortem.
Kawale Police would like to extend the warning to Kabaza operators to refrain from operating business during odd hours to avoid similar incidents.
Paul Alosi hailed from Chipeni Village, Traditional Authority Tsabango in Lilongwe.
