In the Mzuzu District FAM league, the semifinals are set as four teams vie for the Championship title. The last quarterfinals on Sunday, January 7, saw intense battles for the coveted two slots in the next stage.
Eagle Strikers FC faced a setback, succumbing to a 3-1 defeat in post-match penalties against Dairy FCK Academy FC after a 1-1 draw in regulation time. Meanwhile, Sonda United FC asserted dominance, humiliating Holera FC 3-1 at Ekwendeni Community Ground.
On Saturday, Blue Sport FC secured a convincing 4-0 victory over Enyezini FC, and Moyale Barracks Reserve FC triumphed 2-1 against Chicago FC. This sets the stage for the upcoming semifinals, with Moyale Barracks Reserve facing Dairy FCK Academy FC and Blue Sport FC going head-to-head with Sonda United FC.

Reflecting on the Quarterfinals, Alphack Mkandawire, the General Secretary of Mzuzu District Football Association, expressed delight in the conducted matches. He commended the teams for maintaining discipline on the field.
Looking ahead, Mkandawire announced that the Semifinals will take place on January 13 and 14, 2023. The venue for these crucial matches will be communicated in due course. It is worth noting that the Mzuzu District FAM league is generously sponsored by FAM, offering a K3 million package, with the ultimate winner set to walk away with K1 million.
