From November 9 to 12, the much-anticipated Raiply National Volleyball Tournament will take place at the Katoto Courts and Rosedale Courts in Mzuzu. The event promises to be a thrilling showcase of volleyball talent from various regions.
Alvin Sambo, the Publicity Secretary of the Central Region Volleyball League, expressed his excitement about the teams’ preparations. This year, the organizers have expanded the tournament’s scope, increasing the number of participating teams from three to four.
He also mentioned that while teams from the Northern Region have historically dominated this competition, this year, the Central Region Volleyball teams are determined to deliver their best performance ever.
The Central Region will be well-represented by a lineup of talented teams. In the men’s category, you can expect to see Wolves, Kamuzu Barracks, Mipuniro Spikers, and Lilongwe Spikers in action. In the women’s category, Kamuzu Barracks, Vixens, Blue Eagles, and Wolves will be vying for the championship.
The Northern Region will put forward strong contenders as well. In the men’s category, UVC, Katoto Truckers, Moyale Volleyball Team, and the host team, Raiply, will compete for glory. On the women’s side, UVC, Katoto Queens, Chibavi Smashers Queens, and Moyale Queens will represent the Northern Region.
Ambilike Mwaungulu, Chairperson of the South Region Volleyball League, has assured the sports community that the Southern Region will soon announce the teams that will represent their region.
The Raiply National Volleyball Tournament is made possible through the generous sponsorship of Raiply Malawi Limited, who have committed K10 million to support the event. This investment reflects the growing importance of volleyball in Malawi’s sports landscape and promises an exciting competition that fans and players alike can look forward to with anticipation.
