Reports indicate that a truck driver Christopher Njovu has been beaten up by his boss Enerst Kandaya, in Luchenza, Thyolo district.
Truck Drivers Union of Malawi has described the assault of Njobvu, a truck driver for Eneka Trading, as a clear signal of abuse in work places.
Spokesperson for the organisation Paul Kachitsa said they will make a follow-up so that justice prevails.
Officer In-Charge for Luchenza Police Station Emmanuel Chisoma said they have opened a file against Kandaya and are yet to act on the matter.
Njobvu, 50, has been working for Eneka Trading for years, alleges that he was beaten up at his boss’s house where he went to have a discussion with him over money.
According to reports, he sustained injuries on his right arm.
