Nkhunga police in Nkhotakota District have arrested two men on suspicion that they stole a motorcycle.
The two identified as Grecian Frank, 30, and Matthews Maxwell, 18, are alleged to have committed the offence during the night of October 12, 2022 where they allegedly stole a San LG motorcycle belonging to Abel Chirwa.
It is reported that on October 12, 2022, the owner of the motorcycle Abel Chirwa after knocking off from his work as Kabaza operator, left his motorcycle San LG on the Veranda and he went to sleep in his house.
On October 13, 2022 at around 04:00 hours, he realised that his motorcycle was missing from the veranda then he organised a follow up which led to the house occupied by the two suspects.
With help from the community members, the two were arrested immediately.
Upon searching their house, a brand new spare ignition switch with a pair of keys has also been found which is believed intended to be fixing on the motorcycle after removing the original one as it was stolen without ignition keys.
The two will be taken to court soon to answer a charge of theft of a motorcycle.
The two come from Mganja Village in Traditional Authority Kachindamoto in Dedza District.
