On 26th July 2022, the deputy Mayor for Blantyre his worship Funny Balaba led community elders for Blantyre Nyambadwe ward into Mr Iman’s house
The deputy mayor in compassion lendered social and financial support by purchasing a bag of 50kgs maize, sugar, salt cooking oil, cash and assorted items.
In his words, his worship, urged Blantyre residents to follow suit in helping the elderly. “We are victims of life, whenever we are strong let’s emulate in identifying less privileged people in our society and extend the little we have. They might not be our biological relatives but their smiles will unlock God’s blessings. ” The deputy Mayor for Blantyre
Mr Iman is an elder person who got his daughter involved an accident five months ago that lendered both her legs disfunctional. She can hardly move around nor assist in anything productive to support her parents.
On 5th August the deputy mayor has scheduled to reach out to 30 elders in his ward through the Balaba Aid, where he will work hand in hand with a grouping called ‘Blantyre Elder People’s Organisation (BEMO.)
