BUSHIRI PRESENTS GOSHEN CITY TO MALAWI GOVERNMENT

The famous Goshen City is located in Cape maclear, in Mangochi district. An adorable place built by ECG founder Dr Shepherd Bushiri. The presentation was done at an event that government was initiating 8 secondary cities plan at BICC.

In his words on 31st of May, during an official ceremony which took place at BICC, Bushiri recommends Goshen City as a tourism hub.

“I believe Goshen city will be Africa’s biggest tourist attraction centre which will boost Malawi’s economy. This is not my project but a development worthy jubilation for all Malawians. Not only will the project boost Malawi’s economy by injecting forex into the financial sector, but it will also create job opportunities.” Expressed Bushiri.

He further disclosed that “Building Goshen City alone has created 4,000 Jobs. You can agree with me that after the city is fully operational over 100,000 jobs will be created in Malawi. We do not aim at creating a city that attract tourists only but also be a productive city where a lot of factories will be built, in such a way more exports exercises will take place as a result of the development.”

For the past five months Goshen City has been in progress, where hotels, schools, a hospital, a stadium, conference centres, malls, banks, filling stations, an airport and various standard houses will be built.

Confirmed reports indicate the city will be completed in a year and will fit in Malawi 2063 vision that will turn monkeybay as one of the 8 secondary cities.

Until its completion, the city is budgeted at USD50 Million which is about MK50 Billion in its first two phases that are currently running.

For the Goshen City to be more attractive and accessible, Bushiri bemoaned poor state of the Monkey Bay road heading to the area, saying is a drawback.

He therefore asked local investors to utilise government investment plans such as eight secondary cities to modernise the country.
