Bunda – Mitundu Road is an extended road from 6 miles through Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources Bunda Campus to Mitundu trading centre.
This road has been in bad shape since years back. The road users were left with no choice than to use a one way tarmac road, where vehicles could hardly pass or overtake each other to and from Mitundu trading centre.
Now a sigh of relief to the residents as we captured the road wearing a new look. The development has been welcomed with mixed reactions as to why the road was not maintained way back? And why rushing just after it has been announced that the head of State will officially open the newly constructed Norway teaching and office complex at LUANAR Bunda Campus. “The road is so dusty polluting our environment, why couldn’t the government decide to maintain it earlier or later properly than doing it temporarily, spending more money on picking mud to the road? We are praying for heavy rains to wash the mud away so that the president appreciates the true face of our road. This kind of thinking won’t take Malawi anywhere” some of the resident made the remarks on anynomity.
Our reporter, passed through the road to witness where few pictures could tell a story that the maintainance is indeed a temporal relief to road users.
“We are appreciate having the road maintained, however should the President keep visiting communities to rush maintenance of roads? Or the roads authority has its planning on papers?” One of the vendors at Mitundu raised concerns
