NTCHEU DISTRICT COUNCIL is said to have missed over K400 million Governance to Enable Service Delivery Grants due to failure to provide guidance for the implementation of developmental projects in the District.
Avant publications gathers that this development comes some weeks ago, Minister of Local government Blessings Chinsinga disclosed that Ntcheu and Blantyre were the only district councils that would not benefit from the grants for not complying to the grants’ guidelines.
Member of Parliament for Ntcheu Central Albert Mbawala has said that both secretariat and elected members have failed to enhance development in the District.
The legislature has said that services committee at the District council have been approving wrong issues proposed by the secretariat without proper scrutiny.
Spokesperson for Ntcheu District Council Maston Kaiya has asked for more time before he comments on the matter.
