FLAMES SCARE-OFF LIONS OF TERANGA, INCHES CLOSER TO ROUND OF 16

Malawi National Football team (The Flames) played against Senegal (Lions of Teranga) at Kouekong Stadium in Bafoussam.

The match ended up in draw 0-0 and this will likely favour Flames to qualify to the Round of 16 in the ongoing 2021 Africa Cup of Nations which is taking place in Cameroon.

Flames defended the flag to the extent that goalkeeper Charles Thom, was awarded Man of The Match due to his performance.

The Flames almost earned a penalty in the 72nd minute after Gomezgani Chirwa was brought down in the box by Senegal’s defender, Bouna Sarr, but VAR check sucked off the joy from the Flames when Cameroon referee Blaise Ngwa waved normal play.

The warm heart of Africa’s boys, played very well and showed some resilient in guaranteeing the next matches.

For Flames to continue it will depend on other groups results. Still in Cameroon, Zimbabwe has beaten Guinea 2-1.
