Police in Kasungu have arrested 25 -year-old Biziwiki Chigaru for reckless and negligent act.
Kasungu Police spokesperson Joseph Kachikho said the suspect was arrested on yesterday around 2pm after he recklessly and negligently rode his motorcycle into the M18 road after it had been closed for presidential convoy, which was coming from Mtunthama heading to Lilongwe.
Kachikho said despite the road being closed for presidential convoy, Chigaru, who was riding unregistered motorcycle Rifo, rode his motorcycle at high speed in a manner that endangered lives of some people who had gathered at Chipiku Stores waiting for President Lazarus Chakwera’s convoy to pass.
The suspect is expected to appear before court soon to answer the case of reckless and negligent act.
