The Malawi Government under the leadership of his Excellency Dr Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera has from the 24th of March started distributing bags of maize to Nsanje and Chikwawa.
The 1500bags weighing 50kgs will be disbursed in Nsanje North, Chikwawa East and Nsanje Central constituency.
In the quest of relieving the burden of homelessness, hunger and stress to people affected be floods. World food program lender’s support through law makers in various constituencies mentioned to sharing the 50kg’s of maize that shall benefit more than three thousand households.
Today the 26th of March Hon Chizuzu distributed 600bags of 50kgs to various villages in Nsanje North
In his words, Hon Enock Chizuzu for Nsanje North appreciated the development and called upon other stakeholders to render helping hand as a lot of people are homeless and lacking food after floods washed their homes.
“I and other Mp’s are thanking the President and World food program for the timely support. Our construction was among the affected areas after Tropical Cyclone Gombe and Anna shifted the comfortability of our brothers and sisters. I hope some stakeholders will also come to our rescue.” Added Chizuzu
Nsanje is one of the districts that was affected by floods as Ruo River switched its normal route into people’s houses.
