Kawale Police Rapid response vehicle patrol team has saved the life of a man accused of having sexual intercourse with a girl under the age of 18.
The incident occured on November 6, 2025 in Kaliyeka one of the suburbs under Kawale Policing area in which Geoffrey Kamanga, 46 was caught in the act with the 12-year-old girl.
The neighbors got suspicious with the impromptu visit of the suspect while the girl’s parents were not around. The neighbors who opted to act based on evidence stormed the house and discovered that he was enjoying the love moment. This did not go well with villagers who took the matter in their own hands.
Some well wishers informed police, and in a reactive response the vigilant rapid response officers team to visited the hostile scene and rescued the man in the hands of angry villagers..
Meanwhile, Kamanga is in police custody charged with the case of having sexual intercourse with a girl child under the age 18 which contradicts section 138 of Penal Code.
Police in the area continues to warn people against mob justice, as it not only hinder investigations but also breaches the supreme law of the land.
Geoffrey Kamanga hails from Luwerezi Village, Traditional Authority Mabulabo in Mzimba district.
