MultiChoice South Africa has revealed its price adjustments for 2024, with increases higher than those seen in recent years. CEO Marc Jury stated in an interview on Monday that while the adjustments reflect added value, the company aims to ensure fairness.
Jury emphasized that customers who agree to a 24-month contract will not pay more than their current rates. This offer includes no additional fees, such as decoder access fees, for those who opt for the 24-month agreement.
For customers not choosing the “price lock” option, the following annual price increases will take effect from 1 April:
- DStv Premium: R929 (5.7% increase from R879)
- DStv Compact Plus: R619 (4.5% increase from R579)
- DStv Compact: R469 (4.5% increase from R449)
- DStv Family: R329 (3.1% increase from R319)
- DStv Access: R139 (7.8% increase from R129)
- DStv EasyView: R29 (no change)
Jury encouraged consumers to consider the “price lock” option to avoid any future price increases or additional fees over the next 24 months. He highlighted the company’s commitment to providing premium sports content, including English Premier League, Champions League, LaLiga, and SA Rugby, as part of the added value for premium customers.
