Lilongwe, Malawi – The Shepherd Bushiri Foundation (SBF) has announced a groundbreaking collaboration with veteran Nigerian actor Nkem Owoh, famously known as Ukwa, aimed at elevating the Malawian film industry onto the global stage.
The agreement, signed on Sunday in Lilongwe by SBF President Prophet Shepherd Bushiri and Mr. Owoh, marks a historic milestone in film production. It is the first of its kind between SBF and the esteemed Nigerian actor, who boasts over three decades of experience in the Nigerian film industry.

Prophet Bushiri expressed his belief in the local movie industry, emphasizing the abundance of talent waiting to be discovered. He stressed the need for collaboration to provide exposure for Malawian actors and actresses, enabling them to showcase their skills on an international platform.
The partnership aims to create opportunities for Malawian and Nigerian actors to collaborate, leveraging their expertise in film production, acting, distribution, and preservation.
“We have great and talented actors and actresses who only lack exposure. I believe we can bridge this gap by working together as Malawians to propel our talents to greater heights,” said Prophet Bushiri.

The collaboration will kick off with the production of their inaugural project scheduled for April 2024. Interested actors and actresses from Malawi will soon receive instructions on how to apply for roles.
Prophet Shepherd Bushiri, through his foundation and Major One Records, has been dedicated to showcasing Malawian artists’ talents and putting them on the global entertainment map.
