THE CENTRAL BANKERS SIGNS PETER MPONDA REPLACING PETER DE JONGH

“Peter Mponda, a former player for the national team, has been appointed as the new coach for Silver Strikers, replacing Pieter Hendrik de Jongh. This decision comes after discussions between Mponda and Patrick Chimimba, the team’s general manager, who believes Mponda is the right fit to help improve the team’s performance, citing his understanding of the club’s strategic vision.

Mponda, a former coach for Black Leopards, previously worked with Silver Strikers a year ago and is expected to contribute to the team’s success, especially in major league competitions over the next decade.

In addressing his past ties with Bullets, Mponda acknowledges the respect he has for his former team but emphasizes his commitment to Silver Strikers. At 43 years old, Mponda brings a wealth of experience as a former national team captain and coach, having also coached Malawi’s under-20 team and Black Leopards in South Africa, as well as serving as assistant coach for FCB Nyasa Bullets under Kalisto Pasuwa for a brief period.”
