The eighth edition of the Airtel Top 8 gets underway this weekend with a gripping quarterfinal matchup between defending champions FCB Nyasa Big Bullets and Creck Sporting Club. The match is set for Saturday, April 12, 2025, at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre, which will serve as the epicenter of the excitement.

Speaking ahead of the crucial fixture, Creck Sporting Head Coach Joseph Kamwendo acknowledged the challenge of facing a team with a strong legacy and the status of defending champions. He stressed the unpredictable nature of cup competitions, saying the game could go either way.

Kamwendo also urged his players to put their recent Super League loss to Dedza Dynamos behind them and focus on the task ahead, stating that they are better prepared to face Bullets.

Creck Sporting captain Hadji Wali echoed his coach’s confidence, saying the team is ready for the challenge. He revealed that their tactical approach includes scoring an early goal to disrupt Bullets’ game plan.

On the other hand, Bullets’ First Assistant Coach Gilbert Chirwa admitted it would be a tough game but expressed confidence in using the home-ground advantage. He said the team’s objective is to play their best and secure a win.

Bullets captain Clyde Senaji emphasized that the trophy is still in their hands and the team will do everything possible to defend it. He added that Bullets is a team with a winning DNA, and the players approach every match with a strong winning mentality.
