SLYVESTER NAMIWA OF CDEDI AND TEN OTHERS RELEASED ON BAIL WHILE HANDS TIED.

Drama at its best, the Nkungula Magistrate Court in Lumbadzi has formally charged the Executive Director for CDEDI and ten others of the offenses they committed.

As a tradition and court protocols the accused requested for a bail which has been finally granted with the following conditions; cash bond of K20,000 each and with one suriety bonded at K50,000 and to be reporting to Area 30 Police on Thursday every fortnight.

A big blow to the grouping is that the Magistrate further gave another condition which restrains all the accused not to hold any demonstrations until the case comes to its conclusion.

Sylvester Namiwa is the social and political activist who proceed with the vigils at the Parliament House in Lilongwe despite his application to hold the vigils was turned down and thrown away in writing by the Lilongwe City Council which prompted the Malawi Police Service to apprehend him and his fellows.
