SULOM DETERMINATION ON ACTS OF MISCONDUCT DURING THE TNM SUPER LEAGUE MATCH BETWEEN KARONGA UNITED AND SILVER STRIKERS F.C THAT TOOK PLACE AT KARONGA STADIUM ON 27th JUNE, 2021.
The disciplinary Committee made the following findings and here under are the determinations:
Karonga UnitedUnder Article 21 (1), Karonga United being the home team is liable for improper conduct among spectators who flew missiles, assaulted the referee and damaged properties.
Further, Karonga United were and are responsible for the actions of their supporters and players and are required to take all the necessary precautions to prevent assaults against match officials, players and
spectators before, during, and after the match at their ground as required under Article 21(2).
Karonga United failed to control the actions of its supporters and thus are guilty and
subsequently fined the sum of MK 500, 000.00 according to Article 21 (3). And for assaulting
the match officials are fined the sum of MK 500, 000.00
Further, it is clear that Karonga United being a home team, failed to provide adequate security and therefore, under Article 21 (17) are hereby fined the sum of MK 500,000.00 payable before the next official match and failure shall lead to forfeiture of points.
Furthermore, Karonga Unitedare seriously warned that any occurrence of disorderliness such violence, harassment, assault or bullying of match officials shall lead to ban the team and the venue from official matches.
Assistant coach Oscar Kaunda is banned until the end of the season from all official matches and team manager Wilberforce Longwe is banned for six official matches with immediate effect.
Silver Strikers is fined MK500,000.00 for impromptu confrontation with match officials.
