Leader of the opposition United Democratic Front (UDF) party, Atupele Muluzi has saluted president Chakwera for taking decisive action against corruption in the country.
Writing on his Facebook account the young Muluzi says Chakwera’s move on corruption is the way to go if the country is to boot out corruption.
“Congratulations to H.E Dr. Lazarus Chakwera for your decisive action! Corruption is a cancer that must be rooted out. We have as a nation developed a culture that is ok to abuse state resources at the expense of ordinary Malawians. I pray that this is the turning point and every patriotic Malawian will support you in fighting this vice,” Reads part of Muluzi’s post.
Atupele’s salutation comes barely few hours after president Chakwera fired labour minister Ken Kandodo Banda for misusing Covid-19 funds in the infamous K6.2 billion Covid-19 money.
President Chakwera has since vowed that every individual who is involved in the plunder of the Covid-19 funds will go to jail and that there will no be sacred cows.
