Government spokesperson Gospel Kazako Confirmed that the meeting is aiming at mapping the way forward to end the ongoing stay away.
However, President of TUM – Willy Malimba says the mother body of Teacher’s is done meeting government as their meeting ends at no tangible fruits to appreciate Teacher’s welfare in giving Teacher’s risk allowances.
In the same Development, Youth and Society-YAS has threatened to seek legal redress and hold demonstrations if government and Teachers Union of Malawi fail to resolve their difference as soon as possible.
YAS Programs Manager Amos Simwela revealed this at a media briefing in Mzuzu this morning.
They say the stay away is affecting innocent children whose absolute right to education is provided for in the Constitution.
This comes after Teacher’s in the country resumed their strike yesterday following failure by the government to give them Covid19 risk allowances which they have been demanding for a long time.
