Mangochi Police moves to halt crime along the borders

In a bid to reduce robbery cases along the borders in the district, Mangochi Police Station has embarked on intensive border patrols targeting unchartered routes.

The team led by Deputy Operations Officer Inspector Isaac Ntalimanja on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 started patrolling along the borders in the area of Traditional Authority Bwananyambi.

Ntalimanja and team also engaged business personnel at Mwambadyira Trading Centre where he assured  them of safety and security.

He urged the business people to work hand in hand with the Police and continue providing support in the fight against crime along the borders and encouraged them not to hesitate reporting any suspicious dealings to authorities.

Bringing Police closer to the community, the team went as far as Mpata Village close to Mozambique border and Tambala Estate before mounting an ad hoc roadblock along Bakili Muluzi Highway.

To ensure safety, security and full enjoyment of freedom along the borders, Mangochi Police will continue with the measures to reduce serious crimes and anyone who will be found violating laws of Malawi will be dealt with accordingly.
