AGE CHASING THEMBA ZWANE

‘Age might prevent Zwane from playing overseas’ South African football great Teko Modise says PSL footballer of the season Themba Zwane might find it difficult to get a contract abroad.

Zwane has established himself as one the league’s best performers in recent years as Sundowns won three straight league titles. The 31-year-old ‘Mshishi’ has been a marvel to watch for the Brazilians this season, having contributed with seven goals in seven DStv Premiership matches.

“Yes he can make it overseas but also, the reality with overseas is they always look at the age.” Modise tells Kickoff.com. “They always look at the age. Talent wise Mshishi can play for any team. He is brave, he can play, he knows tactics, and that’s important. “But also, age is the stumbling block.

Overseas it’s easier to go when you are 22, 23. Ya when you are 28, 29, 30…you can still go if you lucky but also they are looking at the age as well.”
