President Lazarus Chakwera visited the Lumbadzi Green House initiative done by Israelites, while appreciating the good quality green house products Chakwera said that the country can produce using new technologies for domestic consumption but also largely for export.
He added that he will ensure such technology is spread across the country for small-scale farmers to learn and benefit more from the initiative.
Chakwera also said that the country has failed in the past to compete on the market within the SADC region but the Green house initiative gives the country a chance to attract international buyers.
Avant publications would like to agree with the president on his speech during the visit. Indeed Malawi has over two hundred well knowledgeable youngmen and women who can produce everything he has seen during the said visit. The youngstars have been trained with high profile farmers in Israel for a duration of one year every Cohort.
“I have been trained in vegetable seeds production, upon my arrival in the country from Israel in 2018 I approached seed producing campanies for a possible seed supply contract but to my fate they questioned my small start up package, I approached financial rending institutions but I failed to produce collateral as I only have skills and expertise with me” one of Kinneret Academic Allumin explained.
Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (NRC) is currently sending 40 students to Learn modern farming technologies in Israel as part of internship though the government of Malawi has chosen to look at the precious program with a blind eye. Some of these cross boarder agriculture specialists are minibus drivers and vendors while people here in Malawi are starving of hunger every year due to government’s failure to utilise the expertise in our boys and girls unlike Rwanda, South Sudan and Botswana whose governments has taken full support and control to the extent of employing them and some allocated land to show case their skills.
Mr President be it to your knowledge Sir that the past government I can’t even afford to mention its name was very good at throwing most valuable resources in trash bin without realising it is Gold, this is your best time to challenge the young talents in the country and shine by driving Malawi towards food security and grow the economy.
