JENDA UNITED FC SEEK HOME GROUND CHANGE

By Vinjeru Ngwira

The head coach of Jenda United FC has been relieved of his duties following his own request to resign from the position.

Team Technical Director Gift Smart Banda confirmed the development to Avant Publications, stating that Mr. Banda had already signaled his desire to step down before the start of the NBS National Division League.

“Yes, Mr. Obvious Banda requested to be relieved from his duty way back before the league started. As Jenda United FC, we have accepted his request,” said Gift Banda .

The resignation comes amid the team’s disappointing performance in the league, having suffered defeats in all three games played so far. The team currently sits at the bottom of the league table.

Gift Banda also pointed out that using Kasungu Stadium as their home ground has affected the team’s performance negatively.

He suggested that the Football Association of Malawi (FAM) should allow Jenda United FC to use Mzimba Prison Ground as their official home ground instead.

“We are confident enough that if the Football Association of Malawi can consider us to use Mzimba Prison Ground, we can do better,” Gift Banda added.

According to Gift Smart Banda, officials at Mzimba Prison have already confirmed their readiness to hand over the ground to Jenda United FC, pending approval from FAM.
