Four netted over Katsukunya fracas in Lumbadzi

Police in Lumbadzi have arrested village headman Katsukunya and three brothers of the same family in connection with the fracas that took place at Katsukunya village in the area of Senior Chief Chitukula in Lilongwe on Monday September 04,2023.

The three are; Julius Fyson, 42, who is village headman Katsukunya, Maliko Nyamayasauka, 28, Alick Nyamayasauka, 23 and Wilson Nyamayasauka, 22 all of Nsanyama village under Senior Chief Chitukula in Lilongwe.

They have been charged with offences ranging from inciting violence, malicious damage and theft.

On the material day, a group of villagers from Katsukunya, Nduwa and Msanyama invaded KU Distributors company demanding the return of their land which was sold in 2009.

They went on destroying infrastructure and stealing properties of people in the process.

Meanwhile, the four will appear in court very soon to answer charges levelled against them.
