Police at Kawale in Lilongwe are keeping in custody seven suspects in connection to breaking and theft incidents within the township.
The suspects have been identified as Aubrey Chikayenda, 26, Hamisi kapata, 25, Innocent July, 30, Rashid Richard, 17, Hasan Binali ,20, Shadreck Kampira ,37, and Joseph Mbemba ,25.
The arrests follow various complaints of house breaking and theft cases received from residents within Kawale.
The development made the station detectives to launch into the deep where the team arrested the suspects on Thursday, April 13, 2023. During the arrests, law enforcers also recovered items worth K6,000,000.
Among the recovered items include a plasma screen, sports bike, 7 amplifiers, speakers and subwoofers.
The suspects will appear before court to answer applicable charges.
Meanwhile, Kawale Police is appealing to all residents who hard their property stolen to visit the station for identification of the same.
