Minister of Homeland Security, Ken Zikhale Ng’oma has indicated Malawi roads have a lot of Road blocks that detects fraud within the Malawi Police Service.
However, the ministry has set an operation to reduce these road blocks. The development has seen Mchinji road loosing too road blocks and some road blocks have been removed in the city of Lilongwe.
“Yes! We are removing some of these road blocks because they are not useful for road users. Most of them are used to abuse the Traffic operating system where drivers are exposed to handouts that are unnecessary. Soon we will introduce cards or POS that will enable Malawi Police Service to correct through electronic forms and not cash as it was used to be.” Explained Hon Zikhale Ng’oma.
The Ministry of Homeland Security moves swiftly in response to the plea from the August House last Tuesday to remove some of the road blocks in Malawi.
