Police in Kawale township, Lilongwe have arrested a 38 – year-old Madasa Moyo for allegedly killing a 58 year old man in Mchesi.
It is on record that on July 4, 2022, at around 19:00 hours Moyo had some disagreement with Moses Thomas (now deceased).
The spark erupted when the suspect met the deceased as he was coming from his business place and begged him money (K100). Moses’s negative response prompted the suspect to start assualting him claiming that the deceased owed him money.
In the process the suspect hit Moses hard and landed on ground with his head. Due to the impact he became unconscious .
Upon receiving this report, Kawale Police rapid response team rushed to the scene and managed to take the victim to the hospital and at the same time arrested the suspect.
Later after four days of admission at Kamuzu Central Hospital the victim died.
Autopsy conducted at Kamuzu Central Hospital has revealed that death was due to head injuries.
Moyo will appear in court soon to answer murder charge.
Moyo hailed from Dzunda Village in the Area of Traditional Authority Mlonyeni in Mchinji District.
