Leader of the Opposition in Parliament and Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Vice President for the Southern Region Right Honourable Dr Kondwani Nankhumwa, MP, on Thursday, 9th December, 2021 visited Lingadzi, Kanengo and Lumbadzi Police Stations.
These stations are where the government is separately keeping in custody several suspects who are allegedly committed crimes that negatively affected the state.
Those arrested are. DPP presidential aspirant Dr Dalitso Kabambe, Hon. Joseph Mwanamveka, MP for Chiradzulu South, and Hon. Ben Phiri, MP for Thyolo Central.
In his message after visiting the DPP gurus, the Right Honourable Dr. Nankhumwa warned the Tonse Alliance government and President Lazarus Chakwera against using the police as an instrument of torture and political persecution.
He added that Malawi is a country of laws and that he has confidence in the justice system.
