Secondary school management teams and heads of institutions are crying foul over issues of funding in their education institutions. It is alledged the IFMIS system has starved alot these government funded institutions and departments, thus education and hospitals inclusive.
Avantmalawi quote some of these heads of educational institutions complaining about the dry taps, dark corridors, dirty toilets among others due to lack of funding in buying electricity, paying water bills and other services.
“My school managed to print end of final term exams with the money I got on katapira, this is the worst tourture of its kind” the headteacher added on anonymity .
After making few efforts to inquire from the ministry of finance. Avanti gathered that treasury cashier has hitches in managing the new IFMIS. It is reported they were few steps which were skipped by Ministry of Education hence the system was not accessed by the responsible officers which are now getting reoriented and shortly schools will start benefiting from the same.
