Malawi Enterprise Development Fund (MEDF) hereby notifies the General Public and its potential clients that preparations for loan resumptions are yet to be concluded and therefore loan disbursement will not commence on 1st September, 2020 as earlier on advised.
MEDF therefore would like to advise that preparations for loan disbursement have commenced with pre-requisite conditions to loan access among them; identification of beneficiaries and trainings on Youth and Women on Group Dynamics, Business Management Skills, Loan Repayment and Savings Culture. The beneficiaries will thereafter be assessed prior to loan disbursement in their respective areas.
MEDF has a variety of products targeting diverse sectors of the public as follows:
Youth Enterprise Loans targeted at enterprising youths aged 18 to 35 years and can be accessed by individuals or groups
Women Enterprise Loans for enterprising women aged 18 years to 60 and can be accessed either individually or as a group.
Business Loans targeted at Small and Medium Entrepreneurs (SMEs) and can be accessed by individuals as well as groups.
Agricultural Loans meant to finance farm inputs like fertilizers and seeds etc and can be accessed by individuals as well as groups
Trade Finance Loans meant to finance short term contracts and orders
Payroll Loans, a salaried loan to employees in Government ministries and departments, and in private sector which can be accessed by Civil servants.
These loans can be accessed at any of our Branches as follows: Mzimba Branch in DC offices, Mzuzu Branch next to Kips, Rumphi Branch in DC offices, Nkhatabay Branch in Fisheries Building, Karonga Branch near MBC Transmitters along M1, and Chitipa Branch in DC offices, Blantyre Branch in Namiwawa off Sanjika Road, Chikwawa Branch, Luchenza Branch in Upstairs Lodge Building, Phalombe Branch at the Boma opposite Phalombe Music Centre; Zomba Branch in FDH Bank Building; Liwonde Branch next to National Bank; Mangochi Branch at Old Water offices; Ntcheu Branch opposite Small Holder Fertilizer Revolving Fund, Lilongwe Branch opposite Bridge View Hotel, Mchinji Branch next to PVHO, Mponela Branch in Super Sink Complex, Kasungu Branch next to Standard Bank.
In the bid to serve the public better, MEDF will be opening other branches in the remaining districts and the public will be informed soon.
REQUIREMENTS
For the Youth and Women to qualify for any loan as above, the following shall be required: National ID – mandatory; Village Head or Market Chairperson identification and authorization – mandatory; Group constitution and leadership in case of group loan – mandatory; Guarantorship for Individual lending; Cross-guarantorship – group lending, Sketch maps of residence and business premises; business plan for new business ventures/ business profile for existing businesses; application forms; business registration certificate/town council license – for existing businesses.
The General Public is further warned not to pay anyone in order to access the MEDF Loan Application Forms as they are for free. Besides, MEDF has re-designed the application forms in order to foil all pre-meditated schemes by impostors/ conmen and soon the public will be accessing these new application forms from all MEDF branches.
